The Texas Voices performs Caledonian Air::May 20, 2012

Professional chamber choir The Texas Voices concludes its ninth season of public concerts with Caledonian Air: Folk Songs of the British Isles on Sunday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway in Mesquite.

Embrace the rich musical heritage of the lands and peoples of the British Isles, including beloved folk songs from Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland. Whether energized by a sea shanty, moved by songs of melancholy and nostalgia, swept away by songs of true love, or soothed by a lullaby, this will be an eclectic musical journey.

Individual tickets are $22 regular, $18 for seniors (65+), and $10 for students and may be purchased online at www.thetexasvoices.org, at the door, or by calling 214-384-6336.

The Texas Voices Performs Via Crucis::April 1, 2012

Due to popular demand, professional chamber choir The Texas Voices will repeat its recent concert Via Crucis: The Stations of the Cross on Sunday, April 1 2012 at 7 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1919 Independence Parkway in Plano, Texas.

The chorus presents this remarkable, centuries-old Lenten tradition in a profound new way—with original choral compositions by Texas composers Debra Scroggins, Tom Council, Carlos Colón-Quintana, Paul Thompson, Steven Gutheinz, Joni Jensen, R. Scott Adams, and Kyle Roderick. The concert will feature the chorus, cello, piano, and organ.

Celebrated chamber choir The Texas Voices concludes its eighth season of public concerts with My Soul’s Been Anchored: A Tribute to Spirituals on Sunday, May 15, 2011. This concert features vibrant, uplifting choral arrangements of this beloved art form, including Walk Together, Children by Robert DeCormier, Joshua Fit the Battle by Moses Hogan, Motherless Child by Adolphus Hailstork, and Follow the Drinking Gourd by Dallas composer Tom Council.

The 24-member professional chorus, directed by Alan Dyer, will perform its final concert of the season at 6:30 p.m. at Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway.
