Beaux Arts, a Dallas Design District art gallery specializing in antiquarian prints and rare maps from the 16th-19th centuries, presents Le Nouvel Opera de Paris Folio. This exhibition of 22 chromolithographs and steel engravings from 1878 of the Paris Opera House by its architect Jean Louis Charles Garnier will open Saturday, Feb. 18 5-8 p.m. with a free public reception. The exhibition will continue through March 24. Additional architectural engravings will be on display from the gallery’s expansive architecture collection. The Dallas Architecture Forum will present architect Alberto Kalach, who designed Vasconcelos Library in Mexico City. Kalach will speak Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at Magnolia Theatre, 3699 McKinney Ave. in the West Village of Dallas. This lecture, by one of Mexico’s outstanding young architects, will also celebrate the Bicentennial of Mexico’s independence, and will be presented in cooperation with the University of Texas at Arlington School of Architecture, the Latinos in Architecture Committee of the Dallas AIA, and the Dallas Office of the Consul General of Mexico.
